Borough Olympics 2012:

There have been a couple of minor changes to the Borough Olympics for this year.

There will be 5 groups, the group your school is in may have changed so please check via the events section which group you are in.

The groups are not numbered, they are named after Olympic GB Athletes.

There will be no relay heats, relays will be a straight final as we now have less schools in each group to enable us to do this.

TRACK EVENTS (all the same as last year)

Sprint for years 3-6 (2 girls and 2 boys in each year group)

Long distance years 5 & 6 only (1 girl and 1 boy in each year group)

Relay for year 5 & 6 only (4 per team per year group per gender)

FIELD EVENTS (all the same as last year)

All field events are 1 Girl and 1 Boy only per year group:

Standing long jump year 3 and year 4

Long Jump year 5 and year 6

Turbo Javelin years 3-6

Shot Putt year 5 and year 6

Tennis ball throw year 3 and year 4

Rounders ball throw year 5 and year 6.

 The winning school from each of the 5 groups will qualify through to the Borough Olympics Grand Final on July 12th.  This event will have an opening and closing ceremony.

PARKING FOR THE EVENT:

Please see attached file which shows where you should park.  You may park at Blackshots Leisure Centre and walk through or at Thurrock Rugby Club.  You will not be able to park at the athletics club.  Thank you to Thurrock Rugby Football Club for the use of their car park.
