Leadership Academy

Students in school years 9-11 are invited to apply for The Thurrock SSP Leadership Academy. The academy aims to bring together the best leaders in the borough and support them with opportunities for training, mentoring and volunteering.

Being part of the Leadership Academy involves committing to participating in interventions. The interventions consist of a range of workshops delivered through the School Sport Partnership, opportunities to support competitions, sports events and festivals and complete sport specific courses enabling you to gain qualifications.

 Why should you join the Academy?

• A programme of support provided by key partners across the county.

• Opportunity to take leadership a step further and develop skills beyond CSL and JSL courses.

•Opportunity to gain coaching/leadership qualifications.

• Receive a free T-shirt identifying you as part of the Leadership Academy.

• Improve your CV for job and university applications and receive priority communication of paid holiday leader opportunities.

• Eligibility to join sport specific academies and courses to take leadership further in your particular sport (Some courses may incur a cost).
