Day 1 of the Borough Olympics
Day 1 of the Borough Olympics took place yesterday at Blackshots Athletics track with schools battling it out to become champions of their group and also the chance to qualify to take part in the Borough grand finals day. This year, as it is Olympic year, the groups have been named after British Olympians and yesterday it was the turn of the TOM DALEY GROUP (Group 1) and the BETH TWEDDLE GROUP (Group 2).
Thankfully the weather stayed dry all day, albeit a little windy out there, but both sessions ran like clockwork and we saw some fantastic athletics out there on both the track and in the field.
Congratulations to Benyon Primary School and Orsett Primary School who were the overall winners of each of the groups and qualify to participate in the finals on the 12th July. All the results can be found below.

Thurrock Lawn Tennis club kindly hosted the Thurrock SSP year 3/4 tennis festival yesterday. Teams from Little Thurrock and Warren Primary participated with leaders from William Edwards School officiating all the matches.
