6 schools from across the partnership were represented in the Year 7 Boys and Girls District basketball tournaments. Teams from Chafford Hundred, Belhus Chase, Ockendon, Gateway Academy, William Edwards and Gable Hall School all ‘slam dunked' and dribbled their way through the games until 1 team in each event were declared the Thurrock School Sport Partnership champions.
In the boys event the 2 schools playing for the title were Belhus Chase and Gable Hall with Belhus Chase winning through and in the Girls event Gateway took the title with Belhus Chase and Ockendon playing off for the Runners Up title. After a very thrilling game going into extra time, Belhus Chase finally won through.
