Y5/6 Football Festival

Will Eds, Grays, Grays Convent, & Gateway Y5/6 Football festival

The William Edwards, Grays, Grays Convent and Gateway Y5/6 tri-family football festival was held on the 14th January  2009 at William Edwards School between 5 local primary schools: Stifford Clay Juniors, Little Thurrock primary, Deneholm primary, Lansdowne primary, and St Thomas primary. The event was organised by Mr B. Swick, the SSCO of the William Edwards School and Sports College, in conjunction with Tottenham Hotspur FC.

Matches were referreed by Liam Gant and Bradley Granefield, Essex County qualified referees. The Y11 boys did a fantastic job, considering the weather was bitter cold. Our two Y10  girls who are training to be JSLA sport leaders -Chloe Rutter and Sheree Hamelton -were keeping score and time.

The winners were Stifford Clays Juniors who won the trophy and gold medals. The runners up were St Thomas primary school.

The top 2 primary schools will go to the Partnership Final on 27th January 2009 at St Clere's school.

Good Luck!
