The Ockendon Family Speedstacks took place on Monday 8th December at Somersheath Pimary School. Unfortunataly, a few schools pulled out and Somersheath was the only school which entered the competition. As pupils trained very hard and were eager to take part, the festival still went ahead.
There were 4 categories: Y2/3, Y4/5, Y5 and Y6. Each pupil was challenged to complete the 3-6-3 and the cycle stack. Both times were added to decide on the winners of each categories.
All pupils composed themselves and none of them panicked or gave up. It was a most succesful afternoon and everyone enjoyed themselve.
At the end of the competition, all 12 particpants from Y2-Y6 were challenged to complete the 3-6-3 in a relay under 2 minutes and they did it in 1min53sec!!!
The Overall winner was Max Tompkins from Y5 who completed the 3-6-3 in 5.56 seconds and the cycle stack in 17.28 seconds.
Thanks to Chris Reynolds from Somersheath Primary School who helped organised the festival.
