Firstly, I would like to thank Shaw Primary School for hosting the event, in particular Mr Meleady who contributed to it.
The Event took place on Monday the 14th October 2008 and the schools that took part in the event were: Shaw, Somersheath, Dilkes and Bonnygate primary schools.
The event was very successful and ran smoothly thanks to Mr Bennett and all the BTEC Sport students from the Ockendon School who helped out throughout the event:
Danielle Pizzey, Sam Mansford, Nicholas Adams, Amie Davies, Paige Summerfield, Joe Tucker, Steven Peachey, Chris Looker, Emma Smith, Mytra Nguyen, and Lauren Parker.
All the participants tried their very best and the majority finished their race successfully. Some even pushed themselve to their limits at the end of their race with an incredible sprint.
Dilkes primary school had a very strong team and finished in the top 5 on many occasions but Shaw primary school is the overall winner as they were the only school who had at least 4 runners for each race.
The main results:
Year 3 Girls: Shaw, Year 4 Girls: Somersheath, Year 5 Girls: Dilkes, Year 6 Girls: Dilkes.
Year 3 Boys: Somersheath, Year 4 Boys: Somersheath, Year 5 Boys: Shaw, Year 6 Boys: Dilkes
The top 3 of each race and the winning team (school) of each category have qualified for the partnership Final on the Friday 5th December. Well done!
Thank you to all the teachers and parents who helped out with the transport and the supporting of their teams.
