Thurrock's Infant Superstar Athletes!
On Thursday 25 March, 108 super runners from across 6 different infant and primary schools took part in the SSP's KS1 Cross Country run-off at Gloucester Park, Basildon.
Despite the weather, all the pupils performed exceptionally with a really high standard setting the borough with a huge potential for future years.
Winners for this year:
- Year 1 Girls: Lois Smith, Kenningtons
- Year 1 Boys: Rhys Cotter, St Josephs's
- Year 2 Girls: Demi Briggs, Little Thurrock
- Year 2 Boys: Archie McKellas, Little Thurrock
Overall in the team event the winners were:
- Year 1 Girls: Kenningtons
- Year 1 Boys: Little Thurrock
- Year 2 Girls: Little Thurrock
- Year 2 Boys: Little Thurrock
Thanks to Basildon Council for providing the venue, St John's Ambulance (just in case...) and William Edwards School & Sports College for the fantastic 21 Sports Leaders who marshalled.
